Minimally invasive laser procedures have revolutionized surgery. They are increasingly being implemented to treat varicose veins around the world.
As a global pioneer in laser technique, biolitec® has changed the future of endovenous laser therapy “radially”. With the combination of the first medical 1470 nm diode laser and the patented radial (360°) emission of the ELVeS® Radial® fiber, the ELVeS® Radial® procedure provides an easy-to-use system for a significantly improved treatment outcome.
The ELVeS Radial fibers are part of our FUSION® product line, allowing for a low-risk treatment. The FUSION® technology employs a unique process that – instead of merely gluing – safely fuses the silica glass cap to the fiber to resist even high temperatures. Detachment of the cap inside the vein during treatment and an associated emergency surgery are nearly impossible.

Why Radial Fibers?

When combined with the 1470 nm laser source, this laser fiber that emits at 360° affords the ideal endovenous thermal ablation.  It is therefore, possible to gently and evenly introduce the laser energy into the lumen of the vein and ensure the closure of the vein based on photothermal destruction.  Perforation of the vein wall and the associated thermal irritation of the surrounding tissue are prevented, thereby minimizing postoperative pain, ecchymosis, and other side effects.

Why Slim Fiber?

The ELVes Radial Slim fiber provides the easiest access to the veins.  It is characterized by a very small outer diameter of only 1.2mm.  When using commercially available 16 G cannulas, the fibers can be introduced without the need for expensive insertion instruments. The simple use of several of these standard cannulas makes access much easier - even for highly convoluted or duplicated veins.  Also, when treating perforating veins or recurrences, access is greatly facilitated.
